The overview below is not an all-inclusive list of the types of orgasms men may experience; depending on how one looks at it more types of orgasms may be possible, although those are rather targeted at the way or the techniques by which orgasms are achieved, such as a nipple orgasm or oral orgasm, to give some examples.

An important approach to a male orgasm is to differentiate between ejaculatory and non-ejaculatory orgasms. This difference is of specific significance in so-called Semen Retention practices. Mind, however, that — although strongly related to male orgasms — Semen Retention is not a type of orgasm.

Penile Orgasm

The “standard orgasm” or ejaculatory Penile Orgasm is the type of orgasm most widely known. It typically involves penile stimulation and expulsing semen via the urethra and penis.

This type of orgasm is primarily felt in the lower abdominal and penile region, and is accompanied with contractions of the pelvic floor muscles, penile muscles, and prostate gland.

Full Body Orgasm

A Full Body Orgasm, also called Blended Orgasm or Whole-Body Orgasm, is experienced through multiple parts of the body. It may or may not be accompanied by an ejaculation.

Retrograde Ejaculation

Retrograde Ejaculation, also referred to as a Dry Orgasm or Injaculation, occurs when an orgasm is achieved but semen is not released outside the body (through the penis), but redirected via the urethra to the bladder or prostate.

Dry Orgasm

A Dry Orgasm is experienced much like Retrograde Ejaculation, but there’s a subtle difference. Read more about this in our post that describes Dry Orgasms.

Prostate Orgasms

A Prostate Orgasm is achieved by stimulating the prostate gland (the male G-Spot, also called P-Spot), either internally or externally. It’s usually experienced as a type of Full Body Orgasm.

Anal Orgasm

This type of orgasm refers to having an orgasm because of pleasurable anal stimulation. This may involve stimulating the prostate gland (and a Prostate Orgasm), but it’s not necessarily the case.

An Anal Orgasm is accompanied by contractions of the anal sphincter muscles, and may or may not include semen ejaculation.

Sleep Orgasm

Well, this one occurs spontaneously during sleeping. It’s typically called a “wet dream.” It’s usually an orgasm that expels semen via the penis.

Multiple Orgasms

This is when a man reaches multiple orgasms within a lovemaking session. It may also refer to the ability to experience several types of orgasms.
