There are many different styles of doing Thai Massage. And it’s a good thing we probably don’t know that when we start learning the art — we would get pretty confused.

But as a matter of fact, when we enroll for a course, we do learn a particular style — unknowingly. And this first blueprint will probably affect the rest of our practitioner career.

Traditional Thai Massage – Past, Present, Future

I for one started with Northern Chiang Mai style, more particular what today is called Thai Yoga Massage. And it’s still my basic outlook, although I gradually incorporated techniques and tools from other styles. From Southern style, Hill Tribe styles, from Wat Po style, TTMS style, and from Royal style. And also stuff from other disciplines, like for instance Osteopathy, Physiotherapy, and Chiropractics.

So how would I describe my style? I think somewhat like — My Style. And it’s My Style that made me different from other practitioners. It’s My Style that developed, grew and changed over time.

Yet, I think it’s a good thing to always pay homage to our root lineage. Because it’s this particular lineage that motivated and stimulated us to go further. To become a Thai Massage practitioner.

And we should never forget from whom we got our blessings.
