Shintai Shiatsu

Shin Tai Shiatsu — or Shintai Shiatsu — is a type of Shiatsu Massage therapy developed by Saul Goodman during the 1980s and 1990s.

In Shintai, there’s a strong focus on the evaluation and treatment of the Governing Vessel and Conception Vessel Meridians to create space and movement in the body and stimulate Ki Life Force flow.

Nonetheless, Shintai is a blend of both Eastern and Western treatment concepts, expanding traditional Shiatsu with Hara Abdominal work, Chakra theory, structural alignment, Craniosacral work, Osteopathic techniques, and fascia soft tissue manipulations.

Like is common for Shiatsu treatments, Shintai is a clothed massage with the receiver being treated on a massage mat (futon) on the floor.
