Fellatio, colloquially known as a blowjob, is an act of oral sex, that is, a stimulation or massage of the penis of another by means of the mouth. Oral stimulation of the scrotum is often also called Fellatio, but is typically termed teabagging. Mind that Fellatio is the counterpart of Cunnilingus, which involves orally stimulating the vulva.

The word fellatio is derived from the Latin word fellatus, which simply means “to suck.” Interestingly enough, the act of Fellatio is already described in the Kamasutra, one of the worlds’ famous erotic texts, which was created in India (believed to originate between 400 BCE and 300 CE).
Fellatio may be performed as foreplay before sexual intercourse or as an erotic intimate act of its own. Mind that not everyone is “into” Fellatio, which may be due to personal preferences, negative feelings, or sexual inhibitions.
Specific other reasons for performing Fellatio instead of having sexual intercourse may include avoiding pregnancy or prevention of losing one’s virginity, avoiding pain during vaginal or anal intercourse, avoiding possible negative impacts in the later stages of pregnancy, or as an alternative sex act when a woman is having her period.

Oral stimulation of the penis usually involves the penis shaft and penis glans, and is done through sucking or moving up and down with the mouth (or taking the penis entirely into the mouth i.e. called deep-throating), using the tongue to lick, and/or using the lips.
