In this post, we offer you an overview of Tantra-informed practitioners and therapists who offer massage, bodywork, training and/or coaching services in the Phoenix Metropolitan area, Arizona (USA).

In past years, the difference between Tantric massage, bodywork, coaching and/or training has become somewhat ambiguous, meaning that Tantra based practices typically use a somatic approach in which education, training, coaching and hands-on bodywork go hand in hand. One could say that Tantric healing has strongly developed as a form of Somatic Sex Coaching and Somatic Sex Education, although sex and sexuality is often only a means to reach Tantric objectives, and just part of the equation.

Tantra practitioners may use a variety of Tantric methods and techniques to help their clients, which may include Tantric Breathwork, Tantra Massage (Yoni Massage or Lingam Massage), elements of Tantric Sex, Yogic postures and techniques, meditation, conscious awareness exercises, Tantric De-Armoring, Tantric rituals and ceremonies, Tantric concepts and theory, and so on.

The (therapeutic) work offered commonly uses a trauma-informed and holistic approach, simultaneously addressing the client’s mind, body, energy, spirit and sexuality, with an aim of going beyond the traditional categories of good and bad or wanted and unwanted. Tantra utilizes a non-duality approach, offering a path or self-realization and self-growth that can enable people to embrace their whole being as loveable, worthwhile, sacred, and full of potential to happiness.

Nevertheless, it’s true that an important objective is often to clear possible sexual inhibitions and traumas, but not so much as a goal in itself, but rather as a means to support people to completely accept their selves and self-expression in order to having a more authentic and loving way of experiencing themselves and their daily life.

As a result, it’s rather common that Tantric healing involves a combination of both treatments and training, for instance, Tantric bodywork is used as an opportunity of education, coaching and counseling, supporting receivers in enhancing their (sex) lives by not only receiving Tantric treatments but also by supporting them to use Tantric tools, exercises and techniques in their daily lives.

However, one should keep in mind that the type or form of Tantric coaching, training, and/or bodywork one receives depends on the individual Tantra therapist, that is, on their lineage, background, training, and on the goal of a session or sequence of sessions.

Some Tantra practitioners initiate sessions that are entirely spiritually focused, others are rather aimed at embracing and experiencing (sexual) pleasure, and others are perhaps explicitly focused on emotional and sexual trauma release, or at healing sexual disorders and dysfunctions, just to give some examples.

Tantric coaching, training, or hands-on massage and bodywork sessions may be offered to individuals, couples or groups in the form of workshops, classes, courses, or treatments, and depending on the work that needs to be done offerings may be online or live in-person, or a combination thereof.

At any rate, here below you’ll find the Tantra-informed service providers we’ve been able to spot in and around Phoenix, Arizona.
