Erotic humiliation — also called sexual humiliation — is about carrying out psychological humiliation to induce erotic excitement or sexual arousal for either the dominant or the submissive party in BDSM, kink, or fetish roleplaying activities.

Mind that in the context of “play” we are talking about, erotic humiliation is a consensual practice. Another thing is that although the term “erotic humiliation” suggests sexual acts, the latter are not necessarily included.

For instance, a man who crawls on his knees with a collar around his neck and bound to a leash pulled by a Dominatrix isn’t a sexual act in itself, but it does usually also induce sexual arousal for one or both parties.

Erotic humiliation may — either as the only activity or in combination with a type of Role Play — also involve sexual stimulation of the genitals or of other erogenous zones of either the dominant or the submissive party, or of both. For instance, erotic humiliation could be integrated in so-called CBT Play (Cock and Ball Torture).

Erotic Humiliation Play can be done verbally and/or physically in the private sphere, but it may also be carried out before spectators, which may be taking place in performances on stage, in videos, or through webcam performances, etc.

Mind that erotic humiliation is a subjective experience. What is humiliation for one person is not necessarily humiliation for another. For instance, the act of pegging may be humiliating for a certain man but not at all for another. Or, someone with a shoe fetish will not find it humiliating to lick the shoe of the dominant party, but someone who doesn’t have this fetish may find doing so extremely humiliating.

Therefore, any act or play in BDSM, kink, and fetish practices, such as Animal Play, Bondage Play, spanking, Facesitting, insults, spitting, or urinating on the submissive’s body, can be either (erotically) humiliating or not, depending on the preferences and inclinations of the individuals engaged and the context of the play.
