Chastity Play is about someone being kept chaste (a term that means “abstaining from sex or sexual acts”) and denying them or prolonging sexual pleasure and arousal. One could say that it’s an integrated form of Sexual Denial Play and Genital Bondage, an activity found in BDSM, kink, and fetish practices.

The “play” revolves on locking the person’s penis, testicles or alternatively vulva/vagina into/behind a chastity device (such as a case or belt) to prevent access to the genitals, and deny sex, masturbation, and/or orgasms or even getting normal erections.

It’s a play of dominance and submission, in which the dominant party is in charge of the “lock” (the so-called keyholder) and can decide if and when the lock goes off. Although it seems like a kind of “torture” for the one who’s kept chaste, the receiver in fact derives (sexual) pleasure from the activity. In addition, it may also be that the dominant partner derives pleasure from keeping their “subordinate” chaste.

Characteristically, Chastity Play also involves “teasing” the receiver’s genitals and/or other erogenous parts to induce maximum sexual arousal, but without the option for the receiver/sub to come to sexual gratification (typically a sexual orgasm) because of the caging equipment.

Depending on the agreement between the couple/partners, a session may end with the submissive partner being unlocked and being able to come to sexual gratification (either by themselves or by the other), but it might also be the case that the cage/restriction will stay in place for a prolonged period, perhaps days or weeks, etc.

The chastity tools used in Chastity Play are simply called “cagers.” For men, chastity cases are known as “cock cages,” which are devices that surround the penis with a kind of tube, which usually also holds the penis at a downward angle and makes an erection difficult or impossible. Typically, the cage is attached with a ring around the base of the penis behind the scrotum.

You may also find “testicle cages” or “scrotum cages,” which maybe a combination i.e. integration of a cock cage and testicle cage, or alternatively there are cages that only constricts the scrotum and deny direct access to the testicles, and there are cages that are combined with a belt around the waist.

There are different designs, of which some have a hole at the tip, others vibrate or can be locked with a key, and so on. They can be made from stainless steel, leather, plastic, and silicone, among some other materials.

For women, the restriction of sexual pleasure is often implemented through “chastity belts,” which are designed to prevent access to the vaginal canal and/or clitoris, hence preventing masturbation or sexual intercourse.

A chastity belt usually consists of a band around the waist or hips and a “shield” or “protector” between the legs that covers the genitals. Belts often contain a lock, which can only be taken off by the Chastity Play partner, that is, by the keyholder.
