Acutonics - Sound Healing with Tuning Forks

Acutonics® is a type of (trademarked) sound healing therapy that typically uses tuning forks in the treatment, but may also involve the use of symphonic gongs, Tibetan singing bowls, chimes, bells, drums, and rattles. It’s believed that the energetic vibrations caused by the instruments can induce healing effects for body and mind.

The tuning forks, symphonic gongs, and other instruments used in Acutonics are said to be calibrated, that is, “tuned to the frequencies of the Earth, Moon, Sun and Planets,” which is thought to aid in creating optimal inner harmony by “supporting the body’s natural frequencies.”

The struck tuning forks may be placed on known acupuncture points, on muscle tissue, or pain locations, anywhere on the body, or held near the ears. In addition, it’s thought that the vibrations i.e. soundwaves can travel directly through the Chakras (Indian Prana energy centers) and Energy Meridians (Chinese energy pathways), while clearing and balancing them for enhanced Life Force Energy flow across the body.

Apart from the instrumental vibrations being physically applied to the body, deliberately listening to the tones of the struck instruments may be used as a means to access emotional and spiritual levels of the receiver to bring about healing effects.

Some of the health benefits claims of this Energy Healing modality include reduction of anxiety, stress, and depression, alleviation of muscle and joint pains, relief of digestive issues and headaches, and promotion of general wellbeing and inner balance.

An Acutonics session usually takes about an hour, and can be given on the clothed or (partly) unclothed body of the receiver.
