Transmaxxing (transgender maxxing), also known as trannymaxxing, refers to involuntarily celibate men (so-called incels) transitioning into women in the belief that it increases their chances of successful dating and finding a romantic or sexual partner.

It’s important to note here that these men don’t suffer from gender dysphoria, the latter referring to the severe psychological discomfort or distress that results from incongruence between one’s biological sex assigned at birth (usually either male or female, man or woman) and one’s actual gender identity.

By contrast, transmaxxers don’t “feel female,” they rather want to transition becoming a transwoman (transgender woman) because of the benefits they think that has for their lives. These benefits are thought to include not only higher dating and/or relationship chances or having better access to sex (either with men, lesbians, or bisexual women), but also other (perceived) benefits of being a woman.

These other “female benefits” supposedly include things like social support from communities (receiving more help, sympathy, and empathy), job support, free entry and free drinks in bars, night clubs, and discotheques, men paying for their expenses (such as housing, travels, clothing, and whatnot), access to female spaces (supposedly being cleaner and more pleasant), and escaping” male burdens and responsibilities,” among others.

Nevertheless, the above is not necessarily true, or only partly true, and “comes with a price.” That is, both women and transgender people (particularly transwomen), actually face disproportionately higher rates of violence, discrimination, and economic insecurity in society.

In addition, a significant number of feminists and lesbians are “not amused” by transmaxxers and do not look upon them positively, which may complicate the life of a transmaxxed person.

Having said that, mind that transitioning to a woman can take place in various ways, which includes surgical and/or non-surgical procedures, and a complete change of lifestyle.

Think for instance of Gender Affirming Hormone Therapy (GAHT), Gender Affirming Surgery (also called Sex Reassignment Surgery),Voice Therapy, chest binding, packing, padding, genital tucking, hair removal and hair styling, among other methods and techniques applied to affirm as a woman.

Therefore, transmaxxing is not as easy as it’s often presented by those who “are into it,” and can come with significant financial, social, physical, emotional, and mental costs.
