In this post, you’ll find an overview of online Breathwork Instructor Training Courses available in the United States.
In a Breathwork Facilitator Training Program (i.e. Breathwork Teacher Training Program) you’ll learn how to guide others to relaxation, to help them discover and live their true potential, and to support healing processes by using Breathwork and the accompanying breathing techniques and associated tools. It’s typically intended for those who want or need more depth in both their personal and/or professional practice.
The list of supposed health benefits of Breathwork is long: the practice may help people to diminish stress and anxiety, alleviate physical pains, heal or reduce trauma and depression, release emotions, promote vitality and sports performance, speed-up recovery after illness, stimulate personal empowerment, expand awareness, and/or increase intuition and creativity, among other positive outcomes.
Depending on the type of Breathwork, you may also become proficient in facilitating meditation exercises, Yoga Pranayamas, supportive bodywork and massage, dance and movements, singing bowls, chants and music, and/or visualization and imagery.
Mind that there’s no explicit regulation for Breathwork instructors in the USA. It simply means that anybody can become a Breathwork Facilitator or Breathwork Therapist with or without a training. Nevertheless, it’s still advised to follow a Breathwork Teacher Training Program at a reputed Breathwork training center to gain knowledge of all the aspects that come into play. In general, being certified for a certain type of Breathwork means that you have successfully completed a specific training at a specific Breathwork school or institute.
Breathwork Instructor training courses typically span different study durations depending on the Breathwork type, school, or institute. It may be implemented as a rather short training of about 20 hours, but they may also span up to 800 hours spread over several months or even years. Most Breathwork Teacher trainings are offered (only or predominantly) online (live or via streaming) consisting of virtual one-on-one or group contact, eBooks, videos, and the like. Some trainers also offer additional mandatory and/or optional in-person on-location training options.
That being said, below then our overview of online Breathwork Instructor Training Courses that are initiated or held in the United States.
