The phenomena of hosts and hostesses in adult entertainment establishments is rather widespread around the world, but depending on the country these services are offered in establishments that go under different names, such as maid cafes, go-go bars, dance bars, bikini bars, host clubs, gentlemen’s clubs, striptease bars, and night clubs.
Although you will find both host (male) and hostess (female) services, it’s nevertheless far more common to encounter hostess establishments, that is, “young, beautiful, and sexy” women who intimately cater to men.

Mind that it depends on the individual type of establishment, the rules of the establishment itself, and the legality of offering certain kinds of sexual services if the “hosting act” may go beyond only intimate conversation and entertainment. Hosts and hostesses can earn their income in different ways. For instance, they may receive a fixed salary from the establishment, or receive board and lodging complemented by payments or tipping from customers for extra services (like erotic massage, lap dance, or striptease, etc.), or perhaps they earn through commissions for the (expensive) drinks the customer pays for while having a conversation, or maybe they work entirely freelance and pay a fee to the establishment if they manage to leave with a client.
