Healthmaxxing — also written health maxxing — is focused on extreme self-optimization covering a holistic spectrum of health practices, including physical, emotional, and mental domains. In addition, the practice also includes the aesthetic domain, known as looksmaxxing, the latter considered a subset of healthmaxxing.
The goal of healthmaxxing — apart from maximizing health across all domains — is to improve physical appearance, boost confidence, enhance productivity and performance, and strengthen social interactions.
As the word “maxxing” already implies, healthmaxxing involves intensive, often extreme routines and activities (such as special diets, physical exercise, grooming, and specific sleep habits), along with the use of a wide variety of nutritional supplements (including vitamins, herbal remedies, boosters, and nootropics).
Although perhaps a praiseworthy endeavor in itself, healthmaxxing carries significant risks, such as health problems from practices lacking scientific research, supplement overuse, and the danger of body dysmorphia, which can lead to a range of associated mental health issues.
