For what it is, generally, when the term Colonic Massage is used, it’s mainly aimed at resolving problems with the Gastrointestinal Tract, that is, to bring relief for constipation, diarrhea, baby colic, general abdominal pains, excessive gas and bloating.

Colonic Massage self-help manuals and guides are rather popular and plenty to be found on the Internet. Most of those consist of a rather simple version of Abdominal Self-Massage to resolve excessive gas and/or constipation. Typically, the steps taught include massage carried out with the hands that follow the direction of the intestines towards the rectum in a clockwise circular movement.

The massage can be done daily to give more structural relief for the long term, but it can also be carried out in an ad hoc fashion when one experiences symptoms such as constipation, gas, and/or bloating.
