What is this eCourse about?

In this eCourse you will get the theoretical and practical know-how to do the official 15 ITTM Contorted Hermit Exercises (also called Reusi Dat Ton or Thai Hermit Yoga).

The set of 15 self-stretching and self-massage sequences was developed by the Institute of Thai Traditional Medicine (ITTM), a department residing under the Thai Ministry of Public Health. Actually, these are the exercises often used by Thai Massage schools in Thailand as a warming-up before starting the Thai Massage classes.

According to ITTM, the exercises help awake, strengthen and relax body and mind, as well as heal basic illnesses. They furthermore help to be able to move arms, legs and joints more naturally and flexibly, support the respiratory system, improve a proper blood circulation, keep one fit, and work as preventive medicine promoting good health and longevity. Done as a meditative practice it also relieves the mind from frustration, stress and drowsiness.

The 15 sequences consist of standing, sitting and lying exercises that can be done anywhere with or without a Yoga mat, in about 30 minutes, making them an ideal stretching, basic massage and strengthening workout to be done daily, before or after a sports activity, or whenever you feel like.

In our eCourse we work diligently: we cover precautions and contraindications (per exercise), breathing techniques, the benefits per exercise, how to use strength and power, and very detailed — with more than 180 clear photos — how exactly to do the exercises.

Additionally, we supply a convenient Quick Reference page (you can print it out, it’s only 1 page) with small pictures to easily remember the 15 sequences of exercises. And furthermore, at the end of the book, we’ve also added relevant background articles and references to ITTM video exercise examples.
