Lypossage™ Therapy | Reduction of Cellulite and Detox

Lypossage™ was developed by Charles W. Wiltsie III around 1998, and is a manual, non-invasive massage treatment to reduce or camouflage cellulite appearances across the entire body. It is a combination of Deep Tissue Massage, Lymphatic Drainage, Myofascial Release Therapy, and positioned as natural detox and body contouring treatment.

The word Lypossage is a combination of the words liposuction (a technique in cosmetic surgery for removing excess fat from under the skin by suction) and massage. Mind, however, that Lypossage is a non-surgical treatment that works through massage techniques, and aims at tightening the skin, improve elasticity, and improve skin tone, for instance around the abdomen, buttocks, hips, back, thighs, face, neck and upper arms.

To be effective and yield results, one needs quite a series of sessions. The protocol for the Lypossage treatment is to have eighteen 20-minute sessions, three times a week, for about six weeks.

The treatment typically focuses on three specific body zones: the thighs, hips and abdomen, the back, chest and arms, and the neck and face, which are all addressed in the treatment plan. Lypossage can also be carried out with a body contouring machine, as an alternative to a manual massage therapy session.

For those interested in a Lypossage treatment there are plenty of offerings to be found across the globe, in a wide range of countries.
