Goatmaxxing — also written goat maxxing — is part of male maxxing practices, and involves the idea of moving to a desert or mountainous area, starting to keep goats, and living a humble, simple life. By the way, goats can be replaced by sheep, which would make it a sheepmaxxing practice.

In fact, in a more general sense, goatmaxxing is about temporarily or permanently withdrawing from mainstream society to get rid of the societal pressure of adhering to conventional beauty standards, and hence making an effort to live in isolation and off-grid.
Now, of course, this doesn’t seem to be a practice that relates to improving or maximizing one’s so-called “sexual market value.” It rather seems a kind of “desperate measure,” maybe as the outcome of not being able to overcome one’s involuntary celibacy (inceldom), hence becoming a voluntary celibate (volceldom).
A clue to the above is that the term “goat,” when used in a negative context, refers to a “loser.” For instance, historically in sports, a “goat” was an athlete who failed, or was blamed for their loss. In addition, in certain cultures, calling someone a “goat” implies that they are stupid or undesirable.

Then there’s also the term “scapegoat,” which refers to an (innocent) person who is unfairly blamed for the faults, mistakes, or problems of others, often to dissimulate the responsibility of those who are actually at fault.
However, one needs to keep in mind that in the incel community you also find a group of men who (out of desperation or perhaps self-ridicule) choose to maximize their “incel status” (involuntary celibacy status) by deliberately optimizing in a way that makes sure (or confirms) they will never have a romantic/sexual date or relationship. This then would indeed align with the rationale of goatmaxxing.
On the other hand, we shouldn’t entirely dismiss the reasoning that it may be an actual attraction for some women to join a man in a modest, simple off-grid life, even if only temporarily.
Therefore, if a goatmaxxer would properly advertise and communicate his goatmaxxed achievement (for instance, through online dating services), it may be a means to finally escape involuntary celibacy.
