Jestermaxxing — also written jester maxxing — is about a man deliberately acting in an excessively entertaining, funny, theatrical or affected manner, or in any other amusing way to provoke or keep female romantic attention or attraction.

The term obviously relates to the well-known jester, which was a professional joker or “fool” at a medieval court, characteristically wearing a cap with bells on it and carrying a mock scepter.

However, mind that the person who jestermaxxes is not intrinsically a funny person; it’s an act. Often, the practice involves making self-deprecating jokes, being the victim of jokes, or accepting to be bullied (and cooperatively laugh about it).

Therefore, within the involuntary celibate community (incels), jestermaxxing is rather considered a form of compensation for (or desperation about) a lack of physical attractiveness and not being liked by women, hoping to be allowed “to stay around.”

Overall — among incels — it’s thought that as a male maxxing technique jestermaxxing is ineffective and even degrading for the person involved.

Note that — depending on the context — the term clownmaxxing may serve as a synonym for jestermaxxing. However, clownmaxxing can also refer to someone viewing the world and their life as a necessary and inevitable comedy that must be coped with, while approaching it with irony and sarcasm.
