The Wat Anandagiri Forest Monastery in Petchabun was founded by Ajahn Achalo Bhikkhu. Ajahn Achalo envisioned a small to medium sized community of dedicated long-term monastics. A place to be in semi-retreat mode most of the time, rather than having busier periods with intensive retreats. Ajahn Achalo usually teaches one yearly intensive retreat overseas, and leads a practice based pilgrimage to India every two years. Most of the time however he's resident at Anandagiri.
