Geomaxxing — also known as locationmaxxing — is about involuntary celibate men traveling or moving to a different region or country, believing or hoping that a change in geographical location will increase their status and therefore their chances in the dating market and help them secure a sexual or romantic relationship.
The target countries or regions are notably those with a poorer population (compared to the West), which typically are countries known as “developing countries” or the outdated designation “third world countries.”

It’s believed that one’s Western passport has important value, not only because women would think one is rich, but also because some women would opt to marry a Westerner (even men who are not so good-looking) simply to raise their own prospects on a better life abroad.
Geomaxxing was originally called SEAmaxxing (South-East-Asia maxxing), because that was initially the preferred region to move to. Thailand, for instance, is a well-known and popular “target.” By the way, Southeast Asia is still considered a “top destination” for this practice.
Another overlapping male maxxing practice is so-called travelmaxxing, which can mean the same as geomaxxing, but can also have the meaning of traveling widely to look more interesting and attractive (statusmaxxing and personalitymaxxing) to potential partners at home.
At any rate, apart from the belief that one has greater “sexual market value” in certain countries or regions, geomaxxing is also pursued to improve one’s quality of life and standard of living, largely due to the typically lower cost of living in developing countries.

In addition, some celibate men go East because they actually find the women more becoming, the food better, the people friendlier, and Nature more stunning.
However, some critics regard geomaxxing as a form of sex tourism, noting that men who engage in the practice often hold poor, prejudiced opinions of the “target” women and treat them badly — for example, by “dumping” them or leaving them hanging after having sex.
Although the above is occasionally true, many men genuinely seek an intimate and romantic relationship and have found that looking abroad increases their chances. The fact that a relationship in a poorer country (i.e., with women of limited means) can be somewhat transactional — essentially “love for money” — doesn’t stop them from pursuing it and accepting the drawbacks, while still striving to find and build a sincere, loving relationship.
