Ajahn Phrakru Uppakarn Phatanakit was the late abbot of Wat Nong Yanang, in the Uthai Thani province. He passed away in 2013. He was a renowned monk proficient in traditional Thai medicine and Thai massage. His temple has been a place to help and heal people from around Thailand and abroad for post-hospital care from stroke or paralysis and other illnesses.

He was a top advisor during Thai Massage Revival Project in 1985-1987. He was also the advisor of the Health & Development Foundation to further improve knowledge in Thai Massage and Thai Traditional Medicine and an advisor for several universities in developing study curricula for Traditional Thai Medicine throughout the country.
